Stillwater Therapy

New to therapy? Here's what to expect.

It's normal to feel unsure before your first session. This page walks you through every step.

1

Free 15-minute call

A short phone or video call. Tell us a little about what is going on and ask any questions. There is no pressure to book.

2

Your first session

We talk about what brought you here, your background and what you would like to change. You decide how much to share.

3

Agreeing on goals

Together we agree on what you want from therapy and how often to meet, usually weekly or every two weeks.

4

Regular sessions

Each session is 50 minutes. We work on what matters most to you and try practical tools between sessions.

5

Reviewing progress

Every few sessions we check how things are going. You can pause or finish whenever you feel ready.

About confidentiality

What you say in therapy is private. Your therapist will only share information if there is a serious risk to you or someone else, or if required by law. These limits are explained clearly in your first session.
